2020 will soon not be forgotten. We all faced the consequences and challenges created by the COVID-19 Pandemic that rocked our businesses, communities, friends and families. As an essential business, we at Pilka & Associates adjusted our business model to meet our client’s legal and professional needs by reorganizing our practice so that our employees, staff and attorneys could continue to serve our clients remotely from home and our other offices. We also, adjusted how we did business by meeting with clients and conducting our legal practice virtually through Zoom or Microsoft Team conferences. By doing this, even in these difficult times, we succeeded in meeting our clients’ legal and litigation needs efficiently, economically and effectively. However, because we have never forgotten that we are in the business of serving and representing people, whenever our clients wanted to meet with us in person, we were more than happy to do so while making sure we protected our staff and clients by continuously maintaining social distancing, mask requirements, sanitizing procedures and other CDC guidelines. By remembering that our responsibility, first and foremost, is to put our clients’ legal needs first, even in these difficult times, Pilka & Associates was able to successfully serve our clients legal needs with the same dedication and effort that we have prided ourselves in providing for over 30 years.
But we haven’t stopped there. After more than 23 years operating as Pilka & Associates, it was time for a change. Since October, we changed our firm and firm name to “Pilka Adams and Reed”. In growing to meet our clients’ needs Scott Reed, who oversees our Probate and Estate Planning and Real Estate departments and Jay Adams, who oversees our Personal Injury and Workers Compensation departments have both become named partners in the firm. Along with Rick Kosan, who assists in our Community Association department and General Litigation departments and Christine Trakas Thornhill who now handles our Family Law matters. We head into 2021 with the finest team of legal minds that we have ever had.
Finally, effective January 4, 2021, after 30 years, we have relocated our Brandon office from 213 Providence Road to the old Brandon Chamber of Commerce Building located at 330 Pauls Drive. While we will miss our old building, we are excited to move to our new location and the opportunities it affords us. Of course our Lakeland office is still located at 256 N. Kentucky Avenue. At either location, we promise to provide you and your legal needs with the personal attention and detail that you deserve. As such, in entering 2021, Pilka Adams and Reed remains dedicated to serving you and your legal needs.
