Fatal accidents can occur anywhere in Florida and for a variety of different reasons. Sometimes, one vehicle doesn’t even have to be moving to be involved in an accident, and some serious accidents occur in parking lots and other locations not directly on the road. Such was the case in a recent fatal crash that claimed the lives of two senior adults.

Accident details

According to reports, a Tesla automobile slammed into the back of a semi-trailer that was parked at a local rest area. The incident happened in Gainesville on I-75 at a rest stop near the 382-mile marker. The collision forced the car’s front end under the trailer and caused extreme devastation to the passenger compartment.

Two senior adults were in the Tesla. The driver was listed as a 66-year-old woman, and the passenger was a man listed as being 67 years old. Each died because of the crash. No word was given as to whether the truck driver suffered injuries or what caused the woman to collide with the trailer.

Compensation for their loss

As they work to deal with the loss of their loved one, the surviving family of the deceased male passenger may pursue civil claims against the female driver and anyone else who has ownership interests in the car. This case may have unique challenges, but an experienced personal injury lawyer can help. Should the surviving family of the deceased passenger elect to pursue compensation after this Florida accident, they will want to work closely with an attorney for assistance.
