Recent multi-car crash in Brandon injures several

Those who choose to drive recklessly place their safety and the safety of others on the road in jeopardy. This was made evident in a recent car accident in Brandon that involved three vehicles. Authorities are continuing their investigation in the crash, but initial reports state that a driver’s speeding and recklessness behind the wheel.

Details regarding the accident

Reports state the accident occurred close to midnight the night of Nov. 27. The crash involved three vehicles and happened near the intersection of Oakfield Driver and S. Kings Avenue. One of the victims of the crash was listed in critical condition the day after the report.

Reports state that a 22-year-old man was speeding in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup and ran a red light at the intersection. At that time, two other vehicles had entered the intersection, a Volkswagen and a Mazda. The pickup struck the Volkswagen, causing it to spin and eject the driver. The pickup driver then continued on and struck the Mazda. The driver of that vehicle reportedly did not suffer injuries. No word was given regarding the alleged at-fault driver’s injuries, if any, but it did state he was taken to the hospital.

Legal consequences

The reports state that authorities believe both speed and driver impairment were causal factors in the crash. The victim driving the Volkswagen reportedly suffered critical injuries in the crash.
